Amazing control and feel of the game, i just love the feel of driving heavy touring cars. GTR2 is amazing for long races with fast sports cars. Has day/night cycle, rain, pit stops, the whole deal. PowerandGlory 3 mod basically gives you GT Legends within GTR2. Lots of mods and tracks for this one.
I would also suggest BorekS LeMans Classic mod if nobody has tried that in GTL. I started on an rF2 conversion of that, but haven't been able to work on that in a while due to real life commitments. Converting from GTL is pretty much the same as converting from rF1 and GTR2.

'Sports Car GT' from 1998 (EA Games) comes with very convincing physics engine. It's still my favourite The new GT Legends demo is good with better graphics(obviously), but it just doesn't feel like you're driving a real car in my opinion. I also have GTR here on my 'puter (same opinion). Cars that come in the Sports Car GT box include a Porsche GT1, 911 GT2, 911 GT3 And there's the addon cars in the form of Mark Donohue's 1100bhp Porsche+Audi 917 (Which is a blast at Hockenheim and Sebring). All the 917 cars have been modelled (long and short tailed, the Trans Am 917K and the Pink Pig). I also have some 914s, a 908, 906, 962 & 956 etc If you fancy a change there's also some Ferrari 512 addon cars And tracks like the LeMans 24hrs circuit... Sports Car GT is probably still the best way to re-live the golden age of motor racing in my opinion. Just because the physics is so good.
